My long-suffering wife Holly yesterday made the gargantuan mistake of telling me not to post the conversation we had about Rolls Royce on my blog. I say 'mistake' because in telling me not to she inadvertently gave me the idea to, hence what you are reading right now.
I recently showed her a few photographs of the new Rolls Royce Phantom (see pretty picture below) on Rolls Royce's website, and confident in my belief that it stands as of the most beautiful cars of all time was amazed when her response was a negative "it's too square".
Of course I explained to her that, as a woman I would not expect her to appreciate the quality of this fine automobile, but she just wasn't having any of it. She still believes it is a god awful looking car and subsequently I now have no respect in either her, or my marriage.
Never more have I been so firmly in the belief that it truly is impossible to create something of which everyone will mutually love and respect. If Rolls Royce can't do it, then I sure as hell don't know anyone who can.

I know how you feel. I made the mistake of excitedly showing my girlfriend pictures of the stunning Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, to be greeted with a blank stare and "it's too pointy". Philistines. All of them.

For the price you pay for a Royce...i could get quite a few other cars. Like a 2004 Subaru WRX Impreza STi...or a 2007 Chevy Tahoe (GM family). And then with the money i have left, i'll put that towards a house :P

I've always been a fan of the Aston Martin Vantage myself. The only advantage of your good lady not liking the look of cars that cost ridiculous amounts of money is that she will be content in a much more modest car. So you can give her the Ford Focus when you upgrade to your Rolls, and just imagine the browny points ;)

At least in your household, Rolls Royce seems to have nailed their design. :)
