Freedom from the feed counter
I'm not exactly one of those guys who check their feed stats on a 3-times daily basis. Personally I think those who do need to get a few more real-world friends. However i've begun to find it rather amusing how just one post topic (in this case, the meaning of the word "Ajax") can offput so many people. From this article I lost over 10 subscribers. Impressive. I'll usually end up getting 'em back a few days later though, further supporting what I said in this post; the majority of people out there dont give a toss who you are - only what you can give them.
We live in a world of tallentless hacks, reality TV, ten-a-penny celebrities and overnight fame. We adore people we have never met before or would previously never have cared to, soley in thanks to Big Brother. We all want to be known by the big names; associated with someone popular.
Well I for one dont give a shit. Im actually starting to find it amusing. Fuck off and see if I care, i'll be about the only blogger who doesnt live under the self-imposed pressure of hunting for subscribers and watching the feedcount like my life depends on it.

Nice to see someone writing articles against the grain for a change :-)

I feel like it just doesn't working trying to start a blog to get instant fame. Everything is already out there, but what separates the good from the bad is the quality of content. Therefore, why not just write for the love of writing. It makes me sick that people want to blog just to become famous. The net is already cluttered, we don't need anymore trash on it.

As you can see, i could careless about my 'readers' seeing as how i have very few. I've been through so many design changes i've lost count. I blog for myself. I like knowing i have my own space on the net and i actually meet some nice peopel once in a while who i remain to talk with and visit their blogs.
So yeah, dont give a fuck about what others think :)

It's for that reason why I will never publish my feed stats or any other stat on my site. I blog for myself too in the first instance and along with blog advertising. feed counters are a pet hate of mine.
